Winter has arrived in South Texas. It was under 40° this morning and it hasn’t been that cold in November for over 20 years! Anyway, I guess the weather tells me it’s time to start thinking about homemade Christmas gifts. I enjoy gifting food because I think taking time to make or bake shows how much I care. This year I am making super simple Slow Cooker Nut Clusters for my friends and family!
Slow Cooker Nut Clusters Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 container Planters nuts - any variety 1 pound, 2.75 ounces
- 1/2 package semi-sweet morsels 6 ounces
- 1/2 package of chocolate bark 12 ounces
- 1/2 package of almond bark 12 ounces
- 1/2 of a German chocolate bar 2 ounces
Instructions
-
Pour the nuts into the bottom of your slow cooker.
-
Put the German chocolate, semi-sweet morsels, chocolate bark and almond bark on top of the nuts.
-
Set the slow cooker on low for 60-90 minutes (or until the chocolate is completely soft).
-
While that's warming, lay at least two sheets of wax paper on your table. They should be the width of your table because this recipe makes so many nut clusters.
-
When the chocolate and nuts are mixed, quickly spoon it onto your wax paper. (I use two spoons so I can go twice as fast.)
-
Let cool completely, remove from wax paper and store in an air-tight container.
-
ENJOY!
Recipe Notes
NOTE: This is a 1/2 recipe because a full recipe makes FAR more than I need.
Last week I picked up all the ingredients I needed to make the nut clusters. I decided Planter’s Winter Spiced Mix would be the best choice for these snacks as a holiday gift. I got around to making my first batch of nut clusters yesterday.
When the nut clusters were ready, I dropped them out on the wax paper. After they cooled and the chocolate hardened, I packaged them in mason jars (which I later wrapped in cellophane) so they are ready to gift!
Would you make Slow Cooker Nut Clusters for your friends and family?

I’m kinda obsessed with slow cooker recipes, fascinated really. I can do something simple and then walk away for a long long time, like hours and then it’s all done when I get back. GENIUS. I had no idea I could do this type of dessert.

This is a great idea, I would never think to do holiday treats in my slow cooker. I think I would line it with tinfoil so I didn’t have to clean up the chocolatey mess later.

I honestly had no idea how easy these were to make. I make a lot of cookies at the holidays and gift them to my family and friends. I think this year I’m going to make some nut clusters too! How long do they last in the mason jars?

I’d think if you threw them in the fridge, they’d be good for 2 weeks? But I am just guessing!
