A few weeks ago, I saw Dawn from The Frugal Mom post her recipe for ‘The Grey Stuff.’ I purchased the ingredients the following day and whipped it up while James was at school. It was DELICIOUS! But I didn’t follow the directions exactly and my kidlets wanted to try it the ‘right’ way.
I needed a dessert for a Super Bowl party. James and Colin thought ‘The Grey Stuff’ would be perfect. I wanted to take it one step further – ‘The Grey Stuff Trifle’ – and it was AWESOME!
James made the pudding mixture and Colin cut a pre-made pound cake into cubes. After everything was ready, we filled three small ramekins to eat for snack. Then we layered The Grey Stuff, sprinkles and pound cake cubes until the dish was full.
I didn’t get pictures of the boys working, but we did photograph the final project.
It was fantastic!! Definitely a must-try!
Have you ever tried ‘The Grey Stuff’?
Did you have fun in the “kitchen” this week? Did you try a new food or a new kid friendly restaurant? Did your little ones use their snacks to count to 10? We invite you to share your experiences, photos, stories or recipes that include your #kidsinthekitchen!
Come join me and my co-hosts, Melinda at Look What Mom Found, Paula at Frosted Fingers and Sarah of Play2LearnWithSarah, each week by linking up a post, new or old, that features the theme Kids in the Kitchen. It doesn’t matter what you are doing as long as you are doing it together, enjoying it and learning something along the way.
