This week I failed. I didn’t take a single picture of the boys working in the kitchen.
Colin helped make cookies for James’ last day of school one day. He helped make tea on another.
James learned that cooking IS science and now he wants to help more by cooking entire meals. I know this is a good thing, but it scares me! 😉 I have NO CLUE what he wants to create.
Both boys shucked their own oven roasted corn!
What did your kids do in the kitchen this week?
Did you have fun in the “kitchen” this week? Did you try a new food or a new kid friendly restaurant? Did your little ones use their snacks to count to 10? We invite you to share your experiences, photos, stories or recipes that include your #kidsinthekitchen!
Come join me and my co-hosts, Melinda at Look What Mom Found and Paula at Frosted Fingers, each week by linking up a post, new or old, that features the theme Kids in the Kitchen. It doesn’t matter what you are doing as long as you are doing it together, enjoying it and learning something along the way.
- preparing healthy snacks
- having a tea party
- counting skills with m&ms
- pouring from measuring cups
- discovering a local restaurant that your kids love
- creating new family friendly recipes
Don’t have a blog? That’s ok! Just share an Instagram photo or Facebook update.

as long as they are getting on the kitchen that is what’s important. You are raising boys who will make their wives very happy 🙂

Oh, roasted corn, I just love it! My kids would shuck their own, too, I think.

My daughter loves to help my hubby with mashed potatoes.

My son and I made pizza this week. He loves it and he is only 4!

That’s great! I think that kids should help in the kitchen as early as 2 years old!
Kait says
My son loves to bang the pot and pans around while I cook 🙂
Carrie @ Chockababy says
I tried the whole “if you help me make it you’ll want to eat it too” trick with broccoli tonight but it didn’t work out so well… Maybe next time! 🙂
Sara Phillips says
You never know when it’ll work! Keep trying!

I know how it is to forget to take pictures. Sometimes I wish we came equipped with thought activated recorders in our eyes that we could download and share with others. I get so caught up in the moment I forget to pick up my phone to snap some good pics.
