I think themed snacks are so much fun! Last year I made several, including Panda Bear Cookies, Lightning McQueen Lemonade and Baby Groot in a Cup Treats. With Incredibles 2 hitting theaters everywhere on June 15, 2018, I knew I had to come up with something fun to share with you all. After watching the trailer and looking at the posters, I decided an Incredibles 2 Inspired Snack Cake was just the thing!
How to an Make Incredibles 2 Inspired Snack Cake –
Supplies:
- Wilton Candy Melts – White, Orange and Yellow
- Hostess Ding Dongs
- 3 Microwave-Safe Bowls
- 3 Zippered Sandwich Bags
- Scissors
Directions:
- Unwrap the Ding Dongs (as many as you want to decorate).
- Put about 1/3 of the bag of orange and yellow candy melts into separate bowls.
- Heat the orange candy melts in 30-second increments, stirring between each heating, until smooth.
- Pour the orange candy melts in one zippered sandwich bag and snip a teeny-tiny triangle off the bottom corner of the bag.
- On the bottom left side of the Ding Dong, start with a small line of the candy melt and slowly make it wider to the top (see picture below).
- Leaving about half an inch for the II and the dot, start on the upper right side for the other orange line.
- Heat the yellow candy melts while you allow the orange candy melts a few minutes to harden on the Ding Dong.
- Pour the yellow candy melts in one zippered sandwich bag and snip a teeny-tiny triangle off the bottom corner of the bag.
- Pipe two ‘towers’ on the bottom in between the orange swirls. The right ‘tower’ should be a bit taller than the left and they should both have an angled top. (It’s quite difficult to make those straight. Don’t worry, it’ll still be good!)
- Still using the yellow, pipe an open yellow circle at the top between the orange swirls.
- Now it’s time to heat the white candy melts. Put about 10 pieces in a bowl and heat for in 15-second intervals until smooth.
- Spoon just a little of the white candy melts in the center of your yellow circle. It doesn’t take much! (I used my finger to smooth out the top of the white so it didn’t have a point.)
- Serve and enjoy your INCREDIBLE snack!
**Note: I used a butter knife to very gently carve my design into the Ding Dong as a trial. After that, I knew what I was looking to do.
ABOUT THE MOVIE:
In INCREDIBLES 2, Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is called on to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell), Dash (voice of Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack—whose super powers are about to be discovered. Their mission is derailed, however, when a new villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything. But the Parrs don’t shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) by their side. That’s what makes this family so Incredible.
