Springtime is slowly coming which means everyone is in the mood to clear out clutter and cobwebs from every corner of our homes. It’s also that time where many of us have a strong desire to freshen up some of these spaces, rooms we’ve forgotten about or just need a new makeover all together. In fact, as daunting as it may be, it doesn’t take a major renovation to give your room the wake up it deserves and needs. There are some ideas that can actually just take a weekend to complete as well as not break your bank account in the process.

- Find What’s Missing – The first thing you should do is look in each room and figure out what might be missing to give it either a wow touch or a different feel. It could be something like changing out a new rug or adding a throw pillow to the mix of patterns on the couch. The goal when looking at it isn’t to think what can you do quickly but look at the room as far as what can impact you within the room.
- Paint Furniture – Ever feel like giving an old piece of furniture a makeover? Painting furniture can be a great idea to spruce up your home and also save you some money as well. If you’ve had an old piece that belonged to your great grandmother, why not finish it with some new paint and put it in your front foyer. It’s a great idea to also add a pop of color or add some style and sleekness to a room. Black is also a great way to do both, adding some pops of color as well as some fun style to an already dull room.
- Artwork – Another idea to add a conversational piece is by adding some artwork to a room. You can always gather pieces of art that you have and perhaps put a different frame or two around them. Another way is to create a gallery wall of assorted piece and tie them together for a big impact. You could add a few pieces of art and then other frames or images that you think fits the idea. Make sure to use the end of a hallway or a blank wall in the dining room that needs allows you the space you need. Having this creates such a great visual impact and endless potential as a conversation piece for guests to enjoy.
- Patching The Holes – Before you think you want to refresh your home with new paint, you also want to make sure any holes or divots are patched up to ensure that the paint will look it’s best. - Rearrange Furniture – A simple way to spruce up your home is rearrange the furniture in the room to give it a fresh look. If you’re looking at a family room, why not try to move a couch from a section into two love seats to sit on. Add some comfortable chairs, a new rug and pillows and voila, your room is a completely different room with just a little imagination. Think of how the space could be used in a more effective way which could include even taking some tables or chairs out to make room for your guests to move around more comfortably.
There are many other ways to spruce your home for Spring but these are some ideas you can use and accomplish in a few hours. Ask for friends or neighbors to come over to give you a new perspective on the room as well. They might help come up with a new way or design that you did not think of. Write down what needs to get done and what would work within your budget as well. I can’t wait to see what you come up with when it comes to making your home one that you continue to fall in love with every day.
