According to Statista, in the first quarter of 2019, approximately 276 million vehicles are operating on U.S. roads. With that many cars on the roadways, it is not surprising that television executives are looking for vehicle shows to add to their schedules. Here are 5 of the best car shows currently on television.

Top Gear – Top Gear is a British motoring magazine, factual television series that has aired for 27 seasons, so far, premiering on October 20, 2002. Airing on the BBC Two Channel, the series is the launched version of the original Top Gear, which aired for 45 seasons, from 1977 to 2001. The 3 current presenters of Top Gear include Chris Harris, a British automotive journalist, racing driver and television presenter, Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff, an English actor, television presenter and former international cricketer and Paddy McGuinness, an English comedy actor, comedian, television personality and television presenter. Segments of the show include Challenges, Car Reviews, Power Laps, Stars in a Car and The Cool Wall.
Fifth Gear – Fifth Gear is a British motoring television series that has aired for 27 seasons, so far, premiering on April 8, 2002. The series, a spin-off of Top Gear, airs on the Quest Network. Fifth Gear is presented by Tiff Needell, a British racing driver and television presenter, Vicki Butler-Henderson, a British racing driver and television presenter, Jason Plato, a British racing driver and television presenter and Jonny Smith, a British motoring journalist and television presenter. The show features expert car opinions, new car reviews, practical car advice and recent automotive news.
Fast N’ Loud – Fast N’ Loud is an American special interest, reality-styled television series that has aired for 15 seasons, so far, premiering on June 6, 2012. The series airs on the Discovery Channel. Fast N’ Loud follows Richard Rawlings, the owner of Gas Monkey Garage in Dallas, Texas, and his expert crew as they search for, buy, restore and resell derelict, run-down cars. The crew includes shop foreman Jason Aker, paint specialist Mike Coy and mechanics Charles Cimino and Jeremy Cheatham.
Wheeler Dealers – Wheeler Dealers is a British television series that has aired for 15 seasons, so far, premiering on October 7, 2003. The series airs in the U.K. on the Discovery Channel and in the U.S. on the Motor Trend Network. Wheeler Dealers follows Mike Brewer, an English car enthusiast, experienced car dealer and television presenter and Ant Anstead, an English car artist, builder and designer, motor specialist and television presenter. The duo team up to find, restore and resell run-down classic cars.
Chasing Classic Cars – Chasing Classic Cars is an American motoring television documentary series that has aired for 13 seasons, so far, premiering on September 9, 2008. The series is presented by Wayne Carini, an American Ferrari expert, master car restorer, television personality and owner of F40 Motorsports, a classic car dealer in Portland, Connecticut. Chasing Classic Cars, airing on the Motor Trend Network, follows Carini as he finds high-end, rare and exotic vintage cars, refurbishes them and later resells them either at auction or privately.
