Last Fall, Pop mentioned how he was incredibly excited that he’d found a Christmas gift for Mom & I. He said we were going to be surprised but we’d both love it. Finally it was time to open gifts! Pop handed Mom & I each an envelope. Weird, I thought, because Pop usually finds random items at estate sales but I was intrigued. We opened our envelopes to find a gift certificate to a class for Caliente Hot Glass! I didn’t know Glass Blowing in San Antonio was even an option but Pop had seen it on the local news and said he knew that was THE perfect gift. He wasn’t wrong!!
Mom and I booked our class for early March (the first free weekend we both had available). After arriving, we picked which color we wanted for our Friendship Globes and looked around the gallery while Glen & Ruth got things ready. Making the Globe (or ornament, like we decided on) took roughly 15 minutes from start to finish.

I’ve heard glass blowing was a ton of fun but I didn’t really think it was something I’d enjoy. That’s absolutely not the case, though. I had SO MUCH FUN and it’s an experience I’ll remember forever! I’m already thinking about booking my next class – maybe with my husband for our anniversary?!
