My kids and I love Disney movies but Cars, Cars 2 and PLANES are a few of my favorites. I’ve been collecting the die cast cars since the first movie, so it was a no-brainer for me to continue on with the planes! I am only missing Ishani and Franz Fliegenhosen, I think. My boys enjoy playing with them, but they have to play with them near the ottoman they are stored in. The cars/planes aren’t allowed in other rooms that way they won’t be lost or broken (as easily).
So I started thinking about how one of my favorite movies could inspire dessert. Cupcakes are my weakness, so that’s where I started. But how in the world would I turn a cupcake into a PLANE?! I decided to focus on just the propeller as it would be the easiest, so Propeller Cupcakes it was!
In addition to the cupcake ingredients,
You’ll Need:
- Mike & Ike Candies
- Skittles and/or chocolate morsels
- Frosting

Making the Propeller:
Once your cupcakes have cooled, frost them (I used marshmallow frosting). Let it sit for a few minutes and then add one Skittle to the center of your cupcake. On each side of the Skittle, place one Mike & Ike candy.
If you wanted to add blue sprinkles to the frosting to make it look more like a cloud, you could.
That’s it! Your Propeller Cupcakes are done!
I thought they turned out REALLY cute – and very tasty!
Do you think you’d make these Propeller Cupcakes?!
