**Full Disclosure: I received the Good Cook kitchen tools pictured in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.
If I asked you to pick the five most essential kitchen tools, what would you pick?
I don’t know if I could pick just five – but a measuring spoon and a can opener would definitely be on my list.
Good Cook sent me five essential tools and asked what I could do with them.
- SMART Ice cream scoop: I can’t wait to give this baby a go! I think it’ll be a very useful tool over the next few months!
- Flip Measuring spoon: I like that this tool is a space-saver, but make sure you dry it out before you use the other side.
- Safe-cut Can Opener: This tool is nice because it doesn’t leave any sharp edges on your cans.
- Egg Separator: I haven’t ever used one. I just use the egg shell to separate, but I am excited to give this a try.
- Pot Clip Holder: I have a pot clip from another brand and love it! Having another one will be great!
After much consideration, I decided to make a one pot pasta dish.
One Pot Pasta {#Recipe}
Ingredients
- 12 oz spaghetti
- 10 oz cherry tomatoes halved
- 1 small onion diced
- 3 cloves garlic diced
- 1/4 or less teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 4-6 basil leaves
- 2 TBSP olive oil
- 4 1/2 cups water or chicken stock
- salt and pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese shredded
Instructions
-
Except for the Parmesan cheese, throw all ingredients in a large pot or Dutch oven.
-
Bring to a boil & stir frequently until the liquid is almost gone.
-
Dish it up and sprinkle with shredded Parmesan cheese.
-
ENJOY!
I used the flip measuring spoon and the pot clip holder for the one pot pasta but you could also use the safe-cut can opener if you used canned tomatoes.
