I spent most of the week in Seattle, so I didn’t have any time to cook with my kiddos but Colin and I found time to sort Halloween candy in different ways.

There are many ways to sort, but we had a BLAST!
Which candy is your child’s favorite?
Did you have fun in the “kitchen” this week? Did you try a new food or a new kid friendly restaurant? Did your little ones use their snacks to count to 10? We invite you to share your experiences, photos, stories or recipes that include your #kidsinthekitchen!
Come join me and my co-hosts, Melinda at Look What Mom Found, Paula at Frosted Fingers and Sarah of Play2LearnWithSarah, each week by linking up a post, new or old, that features the theme Kids in the Kitchen. It doesn’t matter what you are doing as long as you are doing it together, enjoying it and learning something along the way.
- preparing healthy snacks
- having a tea party
- counting skills with m&ms
- pouring from measuring cups
- discovering a local restaurant that your kids love
- creating new family friendly recipes
Don’t have a blog? That’s ok! Just share an Instagram photo or Facebook update.

We go through it on Halloween, but it was a school night so it was just to make sure everything was safe.

We always go through the candy on Halloween night and the kids get very antsy. It’s a process they wouldn’t mind skipping so I really like your idea.

What a great idea…to practice sorting skills with Halloween candy….I’d sort it by “for mommy” and not:)

What a great idea! We didn’t let them have much until two nights later and then they had Candy Extravaganza night.

The teacher in me LOVES this learning experience:) When we sort we sort all the Reece’s cups out first…and then I hide those separately haha!

Normally we have a lot of candy to go through but this year, he didn’t get very much. 🙁 I love the sorting part though because he learns at the same time.
