Colin is always so much more excited about helping me in the kitchen. Even on days I don’t ask for help, he offers. It’s so nice to see Colin enjoy cooking and, even better, spending time with me!
I’ve been making these (amazing!) slow cooker beef tips about once every other week. We always have enough for a second meal, though. So a few weeks ago, I started making the rice base for the meal. Colin poked his head in the kitchen and asked to help. Who am I to say no?!
He measured out the rice, watched the water come to a boil and poured the rice in.
After he was ‘done’ with the rice, Colin helped me warm the beef tips by microwaving them.
Colin is a fantastic helper!
What’s your favorite leftover meal?
Did you have fun in the “kitchen” this week? Did you try a new food or a new kid friendly restaurant? Did your little ones use their snacks to count to 10? We invite you to share your experiences, photos, stories or recipes that include your #kidsinthekitchen!
Come join me and my co-hosts, Melinda at Look What Mom Found, Paula at Frosted Fingers, Jeanette at Ecoigcognito, Katie at Busy Bee Kate and Vanessa of VanessaBaked, each week by linking up a post, new or old, that features the theme Kids in the Kitchen. It doesn’t matter what you are doing as long as you are doing it together, enjoying it and learning something along the way.
- preparing healthy snacks
- having a tea party
- counting skills with m&ms
- pouring from measuring cups

Believe it or not I love leftover pizza – cold. Other than that chili is always wonderful the next day.

How sweet and what a great helper! I am a huge fan f quiche, any kind and i make a different one once a week. We all enjoy for dinner and the girls love it for lunch the next day. the best part is that it is just as good hot or cold 🙂

What a cute little helper you have there! I love using part of the ingredients from one night, to make a meal the next night. It saves so much time! One of our favorite leftovers is my Paprika Chicken. It tastes better the next night too 🙂

Hmm, we don’t really do leftovers but I have to say pasta.

I love leftover pasta or chili. And it’s so great to have a kitchen helper!!! My 4yo son loves to help in the kitchen (and then he’s more likely to eat, too, haha).

That’s great how he enjoys cooking. My son has always loved helping out in the kitchen. I really don’t have a favorite leftover meal. Usually, when I have leftovers, it’s because I feel guilty tossing them out.

I think chili is probably my favorite leftover meal because it tastes even better the next day. I make almost everything with leftovers in mind though. 🙂
