Last weekend James talked his way into a week-long electronics grounding. So while Colin and the hubs played Worms, James and I attempted a new cookie recipe.
James helped with all the measuring and mixing. He even got to lick the bowl before we put it in the sink.
The batter was very tasty, but the cookies were a major fail!
What’s the last thing your kiddos baked?
Did you have fun in the “kitchen” this week? Did you try a new food or a new kid friendly restaurant? Did your little ones use their snacks to count to 10? We invite you to share your experiences, photos, stories or recipes that include your #kidsinthekitchen!
Come join me and my co-hosts, Melinda at Look What Mom Found, Paula at Frosted Fingers, Lisa of HooplaPaloooza and Sarah of Play2LearnWithSarah, each week by linking up a post, new or old, that features the theme Kids in the Kitchen. It doesn’t matter what you are doing as long as you are doing it together, enjoying it and learning something along the way.
- preparing healthy snacks
- having a tea party
- counting skills with m&ms
- pouring from measuring cups
- discovering a local restaurant that your kids love
- creating new family friendly recipes

I let my grandson help me sometimes in the kitchen depending on what I’m doing. He loves to try and stir the batter!

We made pumpkin spice cupcakes a few hours ago. I love when they help but sometimes they do more harm than good.

How fun! My son has just started to get into helping me make dinner. Today he asked in his cute little voice “Mama I help you?” It may be more work but it is so worth it! 🙂

Cookies are one of my favorites to do with my girls, although we have to do a refresher on raw eggs each time we bake.

I love cookies! I’m just not so great at baking them for some reason, lol.

A week-long grounding from electronics can’t be ALL bad if it means you get to make cookies!
Now, some may say that it is sad that the cookies were a major fail… I, however, think that the cookie dough is the best part! I try to make recipes without eggs so I can eat it raw… 😉
