Easter is still a few weeks away but the kids and I have been experimenting with dessert Easter recipes that we might want to go with our meal. I think Imperial Sugar’s Chocolate Bowls are the winner. It’s such a super simple idea but you can personalize the chocolate bowls in a zillion ways.
1. Blow up balloons – but keep them rather small as this will be the size of your bowl. (We used water balloons and they were the perfect size!) James was able to blow up his balloon but I had to help Colin with his.
2. Warm chocolate chips until they are melted – but not too warm or else it’ll pop the balloon – and dip the balloon.
3. On a piece of wax paper or a silicon mat, make a small ‘chocolate plate’. Place the balloon on the ‘plate’ so that the bowl sits flat on the table after it’s hardened.
4. Refrigerate bowls for at least 30 minutes, pop the balloon and then decorate with royal icing.
5. Refrigerate (or freeze) until you want to use them. Fill with goodies and serve!
