James is almost always at school or doing homework when I am making cooking, which means Colin gets most of the Kids in the Kitchen experiences. So when I needed to make a recipe for a post over Thanksgiving break, I was happy that James was willing and able to help!
We made a Caramel Cheesecake with a Brownie Crust. It was super easy. I made the brownies and then James smooshed them into the pie dish.
When he was done, James set the brownie crust to the side and pulled out all the ingredients needed for the filling. He measured & put everything he needed in the food processor (I don’t have a blender) and then mixed until it was smooth.
I poured the filling onto the brownie crust – only because the blade was still in the bottom of the food processor and I didn’t want James to cut himself on it.
We had a fantastic time baking together and James was a huge help! I can’t wait for Christmas break so that we can spend more time in the kitchen!
Have you ever made a blender cheesecake?
Did you have fun in the “kitchen” this week? Did you try a new food or a new kid friendly restaurant? Did your little ones use their snacks to count to 10? We invite you to share your experiences, photos, stories or recipes that include your #kidsinthekitchen!
Come join me and my co-hosts, Melinda at Look What Mom Found, Paula at Frosted Fingers and Sarah of Play2LearnWithSarah, each week by linking up a post, new or old, that features the theme Kids in the Kitchen. It doesn’t matter what you are doing as long as you are doing it together, enjoying it and learning something along the way.
- preparing healthy snacks
- having a tea party
- counting skills with m&ms
- pouring from measuring cups
- discovering a local restaurant that your kids love

I’m usually not in love with caramel but the brownie crust makes this look irresistible! And my husband loves cheesecake, so I may have to try this!

You could absolutely leave the caramel off!

Ok I love that you can make this without a springform pan. Since I don’t own one I always wind up making mini-cheesecakes using muffin tins.

If your son can make this cheesecake then I can. It looks so delicious and a really nice cheesecake to make for the Holidays. I love anything drizzled with caramel. Need to make this dessert!
