As is typical with the upcoming holiday, I’ve been baking like a crazy lady. This week I’ve had to make 8 dozen cookies for two different events. To make it easy on myself, I decided to stick with one kind of cookie. Because both events were for James, he selected the flavor – Hot Cocoa Cookies. They are super easy to make and such a huge hit, so we got to work.
James did everything but crack the eggs. He measured, poured and turned on the mixer. After the ‘fun part’ was over, he was done helping and I was left with the actual baking. But baking doesn’t bother me because I can do the dishes between bakes.
What is your favorite holiday cookie?
PS: Sorry, hands-on photos. Baking 8 dozen cookies and letting the kid do most of the work means no time for photos – at least for me!
Did you have fun in the “kitchen” this week? Did you try a new food or a new kid friendly restaurant? Did your little ones use their snacks to count to 10? We invite you to share your experiences, photos, stories or recipes that include your #kidsinthekitchen!
Come join me and my co-hosts, Melinda at Look What Mom Found, Paula at Frosted Fingers and Sarah of Play2LearnWithSarah, each week by linking up a post, new or old, that features the theme Kids in the Kitchen. It doesn’t matter what you are doing as long as you are doing it together, enjoying it and learning something along the way.
