This week was Vacation Bible School and it has kicked my rear. By the time we get home, it’s (well) past the boys’ bedtime and as much as I’d LIKE to go to bed when they do, my brain doesn’t stop working until about midnight. Needless to say, it’s been an exhausting week!
We DID go have a s’mores party with Grandma & Geezer last weekend. The review is coming next week! But for now, I’ll leave you with these fun pictures:
Do you like your s’mores golden or burnt?
Did you have fun in the “kitchen” this week? Did you try a new food or a new kid friendly restaurant? Did your little ones use their snacks to count to 10? We invite you to share your experiences, photos, stories or recipes that include your #kidsinthekitchen!
Come join me and my co-hosts, Melinda at Look What Mom Found and Paula at Frosted Fingers, each week by linking up a post, new or old, that features the theme Kids in the Kitchen. It doesn’t matter what you are doing as long as you are doing it together, enjoying it and learning something along the way.
- preparing healthy snacks
- having a tea party
- counting skills with m&ms
- pouring from measuring cups
- discovering a local restaurant that your kids love
- creating new family friendly recipes
Don’t have a blog? That’s ok! Just share an Instagram photo or Facebook update.
Fun! My kids love s’mores. I like them burnt!
How wonderfully fun! Is it terrible that my first thought was that we could make these by roasting the marshmallows over the fire on our gas stove? Not necessarily safe for my kids, but I could do that part… YUM
Not at all!! We have an electric stove so that’s not an option. My parents, though, have a gas stove and we used to do s’mores that way ALL the time!
What’s not to love about s’mores! I like toasted marshmallows burnt, but golden if they’re going into the s’more.
S’mores are soooo good! I like mine lightly toasted, but if they get burned, I’ll still eat them!
I like my s’mores golden! What a fun dessert to get kids involved with!
Yum! We had s’mores yesterday.
Nothing better than s’mores in the summer.
Yummy! There’s nothing like a good s’more. I like my marshmallows golden for a s’more, but burnt if I’m eating it by itself.
S’mores are so much fun.
I like mine golden, but I will still eat them burnt! A S’more is good regardless!
s’mores is one of my favorite things about summer! I love mine golden.
I love S’mores! We love to make them on the store or in the microwave!
Yes! I make them in the microwave, too! But I like them better over a flame!
We had VBS this past week, too. It was my first year not teaching and my daughter’s first year as a music helper. The kids had a blast! We ended up grilling outside a couple times and my oldest son made me a fire pit! We roasted marshmallows!
My kids love S’mores!
Ooh, s’mores sound amazing right now!
smores are always fun to make! 🙂
My daughter has been asking for these for weeks! I have the stuff now I just need to make them!
Awesome! Enjoy! (We’ve tried them with Reese’s, but I don’t think they are as good as the classic.)
If I’m going to eat them, I like them golden. I don’t like burnt marshmallows. My mom did, though. I don’t normally go for the full out s’more, though. I just eat the roasted marshmallow since I’m not a huge chocolate fan.
I love just the marshmallow, too (and I am a big chocolate person!)!
