It’s time for another dose of Kids in the Kitchen!
This week has been BUSY. I’ve managed to put a home-cooked meal on the table every night, but getting the kids to help was pushed aside. Last week, though, my parents brought a large Papa Murphy’s pizza for my birthday dinner and 2 Mini Murph pizzas for the boys. (We LOVE Papa Murphy’s!) I love the Mini Murph because it’s exactly what our Kids in the Kitchen series is all about – getting kids to make their food!
We pulled the dough into a little curly-q on Colin’s pizza so that we would know which was which. The only thing I don’t let the boys do is put their pizzas in and take them out of the oven.
What’d your kids do in the kitchen this week?
Share photos, stories or recipes that include your #kidsinthekitchen. I would love for you to join me and my co-hosts, Paula at Frosted Fingers and Melinda at LookWhatMomFound…and Dad too, each week linking up a post, new or old, that feature the theme Kids in the Kitchen. It doesn’t matter what you are doing as long as you are doing it together and enjoying it and learning something.
- preparing healthy snacks
- having a tea party
- counting skills with m&ms
- pouring from measuring cups
- discovering a local restaurant that your kids love
- creating new family friendly recipes
Don’t have a blog, then share a photo you uploaded to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Share whatever you have, we want to see it.

**Full Disclosure: Papa Murphy’s did not provide me with anything for this post. My parents paid for the Mini Murph’s & our other pizza. I am sharing my love of Papa Murphy’s with you! (Pssst: If Papa Murphy’s is reading this, I’d love to work with you! 😉 ) All thoughts and opinions are my own.

My kids love Mini Murph’s too!

My kids love to cook! I just discovered that our grocery store has pizza dough in the bakery that you can roll out and cook up yourself!
Sara Phillips says
I think Pillsbury has one – but I’ve never bought it. I think I’ll do that next week for lunches!
Paula @ Frosted Fingers says
I want some pizza now! The kids love making their own pizzas in my house
Heidi @ Blue Eyed Blessings says
My kids always ask to make a “Mini Murph” when they see them at Papa Murphy’s. We’ll have to get one next time to try it out. I bet they would LOVE it! Love the collages of each of the boys.
Sara Phillips says
The Mini Murph is such a fun way to get kids involved! I hope your kids enjoy it as much as mine do!
Lauryn Blakesley says
We LOVE making homemade pizzas! It is so great to let the kids decide how much of each ingredient they will have. I think homemade pizza may be on the meal plan for next week:)
Sarah @ Play 2 Learn with Sarah says
I didn’t know about the kids pizza at Papa Murphy’s…we’ve only been once. We’ll have to go back and try it.
Sara Phillips says
We LOVE Papa Murphy’s! I don’t buy the Mini Murphs very often, but they are fun every once in awhile.

we do pizza every friday but I make it from scratch. I did used to buy my dough from a local pizzeria and it was so convenient. My kids typically choose the same things, bacon, pepperoni and sausage. they like meat.
Sara Phillips says
I think I need your recipe! Rob says it’s GOOD!
Cindy Dawkins says
They had fun and ate their pizza’s too.

This is such a great idea – I need to start including my girls in the kitchen too. I’m such a control freak and hate cleaning more than I absolutely have to so my daughter’s hands on kitchen time has been limited.
Sara Phillips says
Absolutely! My kids aren’t ALLOWED to do the dishes because I cringe at the water mess it MIGHT make. Controlled help is the way to go!

Awesome idea! We often buy pizza dough from trader joes or whole foods (both have super simple real food ingredients) and make mini pizzas or calzones. My nephew is awesome at grating cheese 🙂
