How to Keep Your Car Clean and Organized
Clean messes right away – Between things like car sickness mishaps, coffee spills and dirty hands, stains in your vehicle are almost inevitable. However, if you don’t take care of the mess right away, stains will set in and eventually become a challenge to remove.
Clean the floor mats – For the most part, the dirtiest things in your car are the floor mats. This is because things like dirt, leaves, mud and snow accumulate on the mats. For carpeted mats, first smack them on the ground to get rid of any gunk and then, either toss them in the washing machine or place them in the top rack of the dishwasher. Rubber mats must be either hand washed, or pressure washed.
Follow the in-and-out rule– The in-and-out rule is simple- every time you bring something into your vehicle, you take something out of your vehicle. While there are some items that you should keep in your vehicle at all times, like a first aid kit, jumper cables, spare tire and tools, it’s likely that you have items in there that you don’t need. You know, the toys your child forgot, the jacket you took off because it got too hot or the books your best friend let you borrow.
Keep a trash bin in your vehicle – With so much time spent in your car, things like cans, coffee cups, napkins, tissues and wrappers are bound to end up between the seats, on the floor and on the seats. However, you can easily remedy this problem by keeping a trash bin in your vehicle. Use a simple grocery bag or a small trash can.
