**Full Disclosure: Thanks to TexaSweet, I attended a workshop and received a gift card to purchase ingredients for my party. No other compensation was exchanged. All opinions are my own.
Let’s play a little word association game. If I say grapefruit, what do you think of? Your grandma’s favorite breakfast coated in gobs of sugar?
After attending a ‘Grapefruit 101’ workshop, I realize that it’s not just a breakfast food. I also feel much more confident in my ability to pick a decent grapefruit and cook with it! Until this week, I hadn’t ever purchased grapefruit. Not because I didn’t like them, but because I didn’t know how to pick ‘good’ fruit.
Following the workshop, I was asked to host a dinner party featuring grapefruit recipes. TexaSweet has quite a few recipes to choose from, but I wanted something a little different than what they had to offer.
My parents came over for lunch on Saturday. I served grapefruit marinated steak, mashed potatoes, green beans and a grapefruit punch. It was a delicious meal! The grapefruit marinade left the steak with a subtle hint of tangy flavor. The grapefruit punch in a tart drink, but so refreshing. My kids couldn’t get enough punch! Below are my grapefruit recipes.

I love grapefruit, but I have never cooked it, I usually just peel and eat. I put salt on mine though.

You could use Moscato in place of the Gingerale?!

I definitely want to try the grapefruit punch! I happen to love grapefruit. I’ve never had it with sugar. I always put salt on it. But I am weird like that.

Actually both of these recipes sound delicious. I’d be eager to fix both of them if I knew others in my household would try them with me. Thanks for sharing them with us. Maybe one day I’ll be able to try them with guests over maybe.
