Can you believe it – only 55 days until Chrismtas! It’s my favorite holiday – the cold, the lights, the snow (well, at least I can see pictures of snow!), the giving, the friendliness and all the heart-warming time with family!
We have many Christmas traditions – baking cookies, driving around to look at lights while drinking hot chocolate, feeding Santa’s reindeer and others – but this year I am starting a new one. A pre-Christmas package from Santa! I put the Northpole Communicator and the Hallmark Book and Beacon in a box, sealed & labeled it and then placed the package on my front porch.
Everyday when the boys get home from school, the first thing they do is check the front door for packages. Usually they say ‘it’s for you‘ but not this time. This time they saw their names! I recorded their reactions, package opening and what they said about the Northpole Communicator and the Hallmark Book and Beacon.
These two products can be used year after year. You might be wondering how the Northpole Communicator is good year after year. Not to worry, you’ll be able to purchase a new cartridge for it each year.
If you’d like to ‘send’ a package to your kids, you can use my printable. Just click on the image and print (but make sure you preview it before you print. I had to use the 4×6 option so that nothing got cut off). I didn’t place a stamp on my printable label and my kids didn’t notice.
The Northpole toys help spark the Christmas spirit in my house a little early, which I am all for! I think next year, though, I’ll wait until the weekend after Thanksgiving to ‘send’ the package from Santa.
These (and many other) Hallmark Northpole products are available exclusively at Walmart starting November 1st!
What are your favorite Christmas traditions?

That’s just too cute. We have an Elf on the Shelf that helps keep the magic building throughout the holiday season. I’d love for the kids to be able to check in with the North Pole also!

We have an elf, too!

I want the Northpole communicator for my kids! That is a fabulous idea. 🙂 I love that my children are still of the age that Christmas is magical for them.
Sara Phillips says
My oldest is 10 and he still believes in Santa. I hope I can get a few more years out of him! 🙂

I love the snowflake! That would be perfect for families like mine that travel at the holidays. We often spend Christmas with my parents in NC and the one big concern has always been will Santa know where I am.

I like the North Pole Communicator. I think my girls would like playing with it, too.
I can’t wait to see what your boys think after checking it out tomorrow!

That’s pretty darn cool! I love that you can reuse with a new cartridge next year. My 5 year old would totally freak out if she found this on our doorstep. Thanks for sharing!

What a sweet idea and how fun for your kids to discover that special package!! We try to keep the focus on Jesus during this special time of year. When I was little my parents built a beautiful scene for our manger… My siblings and I each had a miniature figurine. We started far from the manger and each day we’d take a few steps forward if we behaved and a step back if we’ve misbehaved. I’ve passed this tradition on to my daughters though our “creche” is not nearly as complex as the one my parents still have but it’s been a beautiful tradition to pass on.

Such cute toys to make Christmas more fun, my girls would go nuts for the communicator. I think I need to print out your printable to send my girls one to use, thanks for the idea!

We love Christmastime too – all of it… not just the gift giving part. My kids get very excited as the holiday draws near and I love the idea of sending them this package! They would love the North Pole Communicator too! This may be the last year the “magic of Christmas” is there for my oldest so this would be perfect!

Ah, this is so cute. I wish I had known about this when our children were younger. Especially my son. They are a bit past this now but my daughter just had a baby so she might like one in a few years.

This is so much fun! I love starting these kind of fun traditions with my kids.

Our traditions are enjoying homemade pigs-in-a-blanket and cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning. And sleeping late on Christmas morning.
