I thoroughly enjoy carbs and believe that every meal should include bread of some kind! My favorite is warm, homemade, easy to make bread with a smear of butter and it doesn’t get any easier than these 2 ingredient biscuits. With all the upcoming holiday meals, I think this staple will be your new go-to side dish!
2 Ingredient Biscuits
Ingredients
- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 1 cup Shamrock Farms heavy whipping cream
- 1/3 cup shredded cheese optional
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
-
Mix flour and heavy whipping cream together. The mixture will be very crumbly.
-
On a clean surface, knead the dough together until everything is incorporated.
-
Press or roll the dough to about 1/4 inch thick.
-
Cut with a biscuit or cookie cutter.
-
Place on a lightly greased baking sheet.
-
Bake for 5-7 minutes.
-
Serve and enjoy!
My kids can make (and have) 2 ingredient biscuits because they are just that easy. It’s nice to be able to give my kids a job they can handle so that not everything falls on my shoulders for holiday meals.
I like to use Shamrock Farms premium Heavy Whipping Cream because its higher butterfat gives the biscuits a richer flavor. It’s also made with real dairy from cows never treated with the growth hormone rBST. To make the biscuits a little lighter, you could use Shamrock Farms half and half with zero trans-fat. Find Shamrock Farms heavy whipping cream and half and half products at Walmart stores in Austin and San Antonio.
These biscuits can be on any dinner table in under 20 minutes, start to finish. Two ingredient biscuits are delicious all the time but best served fresh from the oven! It really doesn’t matter what kind of cookie cutter you use, either. Use Christmas trees, turkeys, bunnies or any other shape to make your holiday even more special!
