I’ve attended Zoo La-La at the San Antonio Zoo for the past several years and it’s always impressed me with more food than one person can (or should) eat, the nighttime ambiance of the zoo with the nocturnal animals roaming around and the adult-only atmosphere. As the event has grown, it’s also continued to improve and I think this year was far and away the best since it was easier to navigate and less crowded in certain places.
I’d intended to take my husband for date night but a band concert at the middle school made that impossible so I took Colin’s teacher, Ms. Ramriez, to Zoo La-La for a teacher appreciation gift that will be hard to beat!
About Zoo La-La:
Zoo La-La! is the San Antonio Zoo’s “Taste Of” fundraiser for adults. Sip, savor and support the zoo while sampling food from 50 of San Antonio’s premiere restaurants! Stroll through the zoo’s pathways and animal habitats while enjoying live music on three stages and sampling local craft beer and wine at this adult night out. Please note: NO guests under age 21 will be permitted in the event.
After we stopped at the first of many food booths, Ms. Ramirez asked if that’s how the night would go. Yep. Sampling food and drinks from over 50 San Antonio restaurants around the zoo is exactly what Zoo La-La is about. The event is fun and relaxing but it also supports a great cause – the San Antonio Zoo!
If you asked what my favorite booth was, I’d have a hard time answering. Scooped Cookie Dough Bar had an amazing Lucky Elephant cookie dough, but the tiramisu at the Maggiano’s booth was good, too. As far as the savory food goes, there were SO many great dishes.
Zoo La-La Guidelines –
- ID is required at check-in since this is a 21 and up event.
- Starts at 7:00 p.m. and ends at 10:30 p.m.
- ENJOY the event!
- Refunds are not available for no-shows or without a minimum of one week notice.
- The San Antonio Zoo reserves the right to cancel or modify the experience due to inclement weather, animal health, and/or safety concerns. In the event of cancellation, efforts will be made to reschedule you on a future date.
