I was invited to a preview of the Microsoft Store before it opened but because I had a previous commitment I was going to have to decline. I REALLY didn’t want to, but what else could I do. But then my husband volunteered to fill my shoes. I asked if that would be alright, and they said SURE!
The following are my husband’s words:
The presentation they had was simply a talk about the store and how Microsoft would like to get involved in the community here in San Antonio. So if you are reading this and are passionate about something send ’em an email and see if they want to be involved somehow.
I got excited about the “theater space” they have for the community/public to use with a 100+ inch touch screen! That’s really just a big kid toy but can be put to good use. And the whole store is wrapped with screens that make a unified display!! What I think was the best is the kind of educational support they will provide — they will have classes, demo’s and general hands on help. Bring in whatever you have (it does not have to be a Windows device) and they can probably show you how to use it. I’m wondering if I can get my father-in-law in there to learn how to use Windows8. Speaking of the new Windows, it only takes a 3 minute demo to get you up to speed on how to use it like a pro. Without much back story, I need a new laptop. I had been thinking about getting a Chromebook but now that I’ve my hands on Windows8 I’m no longer leaning that way.
If you are a gamer/nerd/geek/techy (like me) or just want to know how to browse the internet, the Microsoft Store is for you.
You can find the Microsoft Store at The Shops at La Cantera!
Connect with the Microsoft Store on facebook and twitter!
**Full Disclosure: I got to spend about an hour hearing about and looking around the new Microsoft Store. I received a goodie bag as a thank you for going. No compensation was exchanged. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
