When driving in a tornado– If you are driving on the road and a tornado is approaching, you want to seek shelter right away. If you can’t seek shelter, get off the road completely and stay in your car, with your seat belt on and crouched down below the windshield.

When driving in heavy winds– Heavy winds may not seem like a big deal when you are driving, but they are something that requires your undivided attention when driving. Avoid areas when heavy winds are common like tunnels and overpasses. Also, try to avoid larger vehicles like RV’s and tractor-trailers, since these vehicles are easily overturned by high winds.

When driving in heavy rain– Heavy rains lead to poor visibility when driving. So, there are some precautions you should take to stay safe while driving including slowing down your speed to avoid hydroplaning and turning on your headlights so other vehicles can see you easily.

When driving in winter conditions– Winter weather is sometimes tough to drive in, so being prepared is your best advice. Be sure to keep essentials in your car such as an ice scraper, a bag of salt and a snow shovel. When driving, be sure your headlights are on and you reduce your speed on the road.

When driving on a curvy road– Curvy roadways have been known to cause major auto accidents, so extra caution should be used when driving on one. When approaching a curve in the road, move to your side of the lane, opposite the curve’s direction. You also want to accelerate out of the curve to avoid skidding.
