Early last week, James found something on the playground at recess and brought it home. What do you think it is?
My husband agreed to let James keep it … as long as it doesn’t get out, I guess I am semi-okay with it.
It does look REALLY cool, but still, it’s a BUG!
PS: Sorry for the tiny pictures, I thought collages would be better. I was wrong!
Happy Wednesday!
My son would love to have a rhino beetle!
Woah, that is one creepy bug.
Last month we took pics of the rhino beetle larvae in our compost pile. Those things are massive. I’m glad we’re not the only one with them. I don’t think pictures can convey just how huge these suckers really are!
Agreed! And he moves way too quickly for me to do a comparison shot. James would LOVE to see the larvae.
Just got the shivers!! Sooooo hoping my little man never has a teacher like that. Eeeek!! π
I really love the teacher. It’s the science guy that hands out the cups for catching. We’ve had a chat about NOT bringing home ANYTHING else.
That is pretty cool! I think I would let my kids keep that. I’ve already told Hunter you can have anything except spiders and snakes. Haha.
It IS cool, but I won’t touch it and if he gets out, he’s a dead man!
I probably wouldn’t touch it either lol.
OMG I would freak out!! I hate bugs!!
oh ewwwwww!
My daughter would love that!
LOL! We just got these bug hunting kits from the dollar store because my kids are always becoming attached to bugs, frogs, and other little critters!
It’s better tan a snake!! π
I completely agree!!!
Funny pet!
That is a pretty cool looking bug, as long as he stay contained. lol
Exactly!
Beetles are pretty cool. What do you feed it?
We read that they eat rotting fruit and sap. So far we’ve only given him cherry tomatoes.
Eww yuck, do not like any type of bug you’re a nice mommy for letting him keep it!
You’re one good mom. I wouldn’t be able to handle that!
I would be all set with letting him keep that. I was going to guess June Bug .. is that the same? Never seen a rhino bug, but have seen those pesky June bugs. Beetles like that and moths freak me out
Definitely not a June Bug – SO much bigger!
As we speak I see a lizard and a beettle out my window. Thank goodness its not that big>)
Very cool looking. But, I think I’m with you… it’s a BUG! LOL
Ewwwwwwwwwwww
That is pretty cool to find just at school. My daughter is totally into bugs and would have done the same π
Wow are those ever great pictures of the strangest but coolest bug! Thank you for sharing (oh, I love this font you have in the Comment box here). π
Oooh I would be freaking out if my kid brought that home lOL
EEEEEkkkk!!! I’m know I have lots of bugs, snakes, and other scaries coming up in the near future!
Yes you will!
I love you let him keep it as a pet, I hope it doesn’t get out!! : )
You and me both! π
That is one cool looking bug!! At first I though it was a roach, but a beetle, I can handle that π
Oh yea, NO roaches in this momma’s house!
ACK!!!! I would FREAK.OUT.
Ekk your better than me because that bug would be looking for a new home! It is interesting to look at!
