When I was a kid, my sister and I had a PILE of dress-up clothes. I think all of them were dresses, so there wasn’t much variety. But we had a blast with them! Because I have two boys, I am learning about the other side of dress up clothes … chef costumes, dinosaurs, carpenters, etc.
Colin got to review the Pirate Captain Costume from Wholesale Costume Club, and he LOVED it!
He grabbed a sword out of the playroom and attacked Bub when he got home from school. And then Colin attacked Daddy when he came home! Kids costumes are a blast! Children’s imaginations can just flow when they are dressed up. It’s so much fun to watch and experience.
What I loved:
- I LOVE the selection you can find at Wholesale Costume Club! (Seriously, I had a very hard time picking just ONE for the review!)
- The material was very breathable for polyester. Colin didn’t break a sweat (as he tends to do in polyester) when he was running around in his new costume.
- The costume is cute … well, as cute as a pirate can be! 😉
- The number of pieces is reasonable – 4 (pants, shirt with attached vest, belt and wig/hat) – and are easy to locate in a box of dress up clothes.
What I would change:
- The Pirate hat/hair seemed a little small. (My husband said it was fine, I had trouble getting it to fit on Colin’s head.)
- The directions say it’s hand wash only. I’d love to be able to throw it in the machine.

Do your kids wear costumes? What are some of their favorites?
**Full disclosure: I received the costume for review purposes. I did not receive monetary compensation for this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
