It’s been over 6 months since I shared a weight loss update so I’m back! I’m also sharing my 2019 fitness goals so I can be held accountable for the things I say I’m going to do to become a healthier version of myself. Changing my lifestyle is not easy but it’s worth it.
I intended to share a ‘Where I Stand’ post about my weight loss journey every few months but I didn’t think I had enough for an entire post so I pushed it off. It’s the new year, though, and I feel like that calls for an update and adjusted goals. For 2019, I’ll probably just update in June.
Here’s where I continue to hold myself accountable:
My original goal was to lose 75 pounds over eight months.
Here’s where I stand:
- I managed to lose 30 pounds over 2018 and gained some muscle, too!
- I joined Camp Gladiator and logged 150 hours of workouts over 9 months.
- My pants are TEN sizes smaller than they were this time last year!
- Since November, I’ve gained back 10 pounds. It’s entirely possible that some of it is muscle but the time to re-motivate myself is NOW.
- I need to renew my commitment to enter everything I eat in the MyFitnessPal app, and increase my water consumption.
- Overall, I’m a happier version of the person I was 9 months ago!
I don’t love to take measurements because I never remember exactly where to take them each time but here are my numbers for comparison’s sake:
April 2018 –
- Weight – 186.4 pounds
- Waist – 44.6 inches
- Arms – 15 (L), 15 (R) inches
- Thighs – 24.6 (L), 26.2 (R) inches
- Chest – 36.5 inches
July 2018 –
- Weight – 174.0 pounds
- Waist – 40 inches
- Arms – 14 (L), 14 (R) inches
- Thighs – 21 (L), 22 (R) inches
- Chest – 35.5 inches
January 2019 –
- Weight – 182.4 pounds
- Waist – 39.5 inches
- Arms – 15 (L), 15 (R) inches
- Thighs – 22 (L), 22 (R) inches
- Chest – 36.5 inches
**Note: My husband takes my measurements and he says they may not be accurate because of him – Ha!
2019 Fitness Goals:
- Decrease fat; increase muscle.
- Lose 40 pounds.
- Attend (at least) 3 Camp Gladiator workouts a week.
- Hit 250 check-ins by December 2019.
When I think back to when I wanted to lose 100 pounds, I never thought it would happen. I didn’t have the motivation or drive to even try. The reality is, 100 pounds is too much for me to lose but with only 40 pounds to my goal weight, I am starting to see a glimmer at the end of my weight loss tunnel!
I hope you’ll follow along as I try to do better – for myself, for my health & self-esteem and for my family.
