My challenge was to create a quick, on-the-go family breakfast using the Tyson Bread Bowls. I have a TON of experience with quick breakfasts, as I make them about six days a week! Usually they consist of cereal and fruit, so I was excited to have something warm to serve!
I headed to Sam’s Club (check out the trip here) to find and purchase them. A trip to Sam’s Club is always fun, since I was kid-less I took my time looking around. When I finally made it to the Frozen Breakfast Food section, the Tyson Bread Bowls were super easy to spot! Can you find them in the picture below?

Ok, so the challenge … with the bread bowls, you just heat them up (1 minute, 45 seconds for two of them) and eat them. For our quick breakfasts, we eat bananas and/or strawberries while the bowls are in the microwave and cooling. It took us less than 10 minutes to eat the fruit and bread bowls. That is quick in our house and it keeps us from running late to get out the door for school and church! I also really enjoy the bread bowl with grapes dipped in vanilla yogurt – SO good!! And, clean up is a breeze! If there was any left (that didn’t happen often), we threw it in the compost tub and then put the plates and forks in the sink.
What I Love:
- I love that the packaging is more white than red or yellow. It makes it so much easier to find them on the shelf!
- They take less than 2 minutes to cook.
- I spent less than $10 on a box of 12 bowls.
- The bread is soft – and stays that way. (Unless you leave your last bite on the plate to go style your hair … then the bread is hard when you come back.)
- My oldest son can make these himself!! (Which means he could “cook” while I am in the shower! NICE!)
What I’d Change:
- I enjoy my bacon well done. While the bread bowls are good as they are, I’d like to see different flavors – Sausage and/or Egg Bowls would be awesome!

I agree that they need more flavors. I did like these, though! We ran out in our house.. time to pick up more!

I haven’t seen these in stores but I love Tyson products so I’ll have to look for them next shopping trip.
