**Full Disclosure: I received a Red Robin gift card in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.
I don’t have many allergies but Colin has a two-page list of them. Of his allergies, the things we most have to watch for are soy and sesame. Can I tell you how hard it is to keep soy out of your diet?!
We are lucky in that Colin’s only reaction is that his eczema flares. But with Red Robin’s new customized allergen menu, we can order things that he can eat without worry.
The allergy menu is completely interactive and easy to use – let me show you!
Go to http://www.redrobin.com/customizer_hub and you’ll see this screen:
The customized allergen menu is on the far left – click that button to launch the menu. (When you are done looking at that menu, check out the ‘Customize Your Nutrition’ link, because it’s neat, too!)
Then select your allergens:
You’ll have to accept the terms of use to go any farther.
After you accept the terms of use, you’ll see ‘Your Options by Category.*’ As you can see below, I selected the Crispy Chicken Tender Salad.
Because the allergen I selected was soy, it tells me I should not have the breaded chicken tenders or the garlic bread. The menu offered alternatives, but the screen was blank. It could mean that there are no alternatives for the breaded chicken but I can’t know for certain.
Because the salad was for me (not Colin), I went ahead and ordered. It was as delicious as it usually is!
Which allergens do you watch for?
