What’s your favorite room in your house? Mine is my living room. Or my kitchen. It’s definitely NOT the bathroom! LOL! Don’t get me wrong, the bathroom is visited very frequently – especially since we are (STILL) trying to potty train Colin. But it’s not the place I would want to go hang out.
Something that happens in our bathroom is the “Cloud Game.” The “cloud game” consists of finding shapes and animals in the popcorn ceiling. He is looking up and thinking about finding things and not at all worried about getting water and/or soap in his face.
We have popcorn ceilings. They are UGLY! But, I don’t feel like changing them, so they stay. When C gets in the bath, he LOVES it, but hair-washing is a completely different story. My husband and I take turns doing the washing. If he is washing C’s hair, then I play the “cloud game” with C. Before he knows it, C’s hair is washed and he can go on playing in the bathtub!
The Clorox Family of Toilet Products recently launched a fun new Web site celebrating one of the most-used and underrated rooms in our homes – the bathroom! The Clorox Lounge is turning the bathroom into the laughroom with a community hub designed to be a mom’s go-to place for comedy, which launched on January 26, 2012. Hosted by comedian, actress and mom Sherri Shepherd, the site found at TheCloroxLounge.com features hilarious anecdotes, fun contests, exciting give-a-ways, coupons and just the right amount of comic relief. An inspiration for an entire genre of comedy, the potty is often named as the number one place for moms to find a moment of quiet and a break from a busy day! Whether it’s potty training, cleaning wars, or simply rites of passage that come with kids growing-up, the bathroom is such a huge part of our lives.
Recently, I tried to be frugal (CHEAP) with my kids and it completely backfired! My kids met some goals we had set, and we headed off to a dollar store. Each kid was allowed to spend $5 and they only had 10 minutes to figure out what they wanted. They both ended up with more than one item and played with them for less than one day. I feel like if I’d taken them to a big box store, they would have picked something they liked better.
I am cheap, and it backfires all the time. But, when it comes to toys, I tend to buy quality things. I’ve learned my lesson!!
Are you cheap? Does it backfire on you? How so?
