Did you know you can test your water with an analysis kit to check the quality of your water? Not long ago, I used an analysis kit to see what all was in my tap water.
James and I were testing the water when my husband came home from work. I thought everything looked fine but he said that the total hardness and total alkalinity were too high. A pH of 4 is lower than the acceptable standard of 6.5 – 8.5 but I don’t know if that’s something I should be concerned about or not.
James got a kick out of helping me analyze our water – even with a few sub-par results.
So, what can you do about drinking water that doesn’t quite meet the EPA recommendations?
You can buy a new faucet! Pfister has a new clarify faucet which is the only model currently available with Xtract technology. The faucet (model number F-529-FCYS) runs about $443 and is available exclusively online and at select Home Depot stores.
Because I don’t have this faucet, I can’t speak to how well the Clarify With Xtract™ filters the junk out of tap water.

Our water is hard because it comes out of a limestone aquaifer.
