**Full Disclosure: My son received swim lessons in exchange for this review. All opinions are my own.
Each summer, the news covers many stories about preventable drownings. After watching so many years of that coverage, I’ve decided that swim lessons are important for every person! James took swim lessons two summers in a row but Colin hasn’t had official training. I was going to enroll him last summer but the location closest to us stopped offering lessons. When SafeSplash Swim Schools offered four lessons, I couldn’t pass them up.
About SafeSplash Swim Schools:
SafeSplash believes that consistency is the key to any swimmer’s success in the water. Their curriculum is designed to optimize your child’s development and retention of water safety & swimming skills. The curriculum incorporates three broad areas: introduction to water and water safety, basic swimming skills, and competitive swimming technique. The swim program is based on your child’s progression instead of a set number of sessions, so your swimmer will always be in a class that corresponds with his or her swimming ability. SafeSplash Swim Schools and Swimtastic Swim Schools are the largest and fastest growing swim school franchises in the nation. They currently serve 13 states with over 100 locations across the U.S.
SafeSplash Swim Schools matches like-minded students and instructors to ensure a positive swim experience for everyone. While this method is a significant factor in the success of their students, I found Colin not advancing as quickly as I would have liked because he didn’t want to put his face in the water. He’s always hated water in his face but it would have been nice to see SafeSplash push him a little more. After four weeks of swim lessons, Colin is about at the same level he started at. That said, I really am glad he wasn’t traumatized by the lessons.
There were three kids in Colin’s Saturday morning class. His teacher was incredibly prompt and patient. The kids before our class were out of the water about 30 seconds before our scheduled time of 10:45. His teacher got right to work and the kids had fun while they learned.
If you are looking for swim lessons, give SafeSplash Swim Schools a try. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

I am so thankful I gave my children swimming lessons. My son recently started surfing and told me he got caught in a rip tide when his foot leash broke. Thankfully, he knew what to do and was able to swim to shore and gave credit to years of swimming lessons. You never know when this skill will come in handy.

My oldest has taken lessons. I’d like to get them both back into lessons though. They love swimming!

All 3 of my kids took swimming lessons – and are now onto diving lessons, and my youngest daughter joined a competitive swim team! Swimming lessons are awesome! I don’t think I could of gotten them to where they are today (swimming wise) without them.
