Have you ever heard the term ‘hangry‘? Urban Dictionary defines it as: ‘When you are so hungry that your lack of food causes you to become angry, frustrated or both.’
I run a pretty tight ship when it comes to schedules and routines. We eat three meals a day at almost the exact same time each day. You might be surprised to learn that I don’t deal with hunger well. So if a we have to eat later than usual for whatever reason I grab a SNICKERS®.
Sometimes, though, I want something more than just an ordinary SNICKERS®. That’s why I’ve created this SNICKERS® Apple Ooey-Gooey Cake with SNICKERS® Peanut Butter Squares! It is the perfect way to regain my usual likeness and curbing my hunger.
SNICKERS® Apple Ooey-Gooey Cake #ad #WhenImHungry
Ingredients
For the Cake:
- 1 apple diced
- 15-20 SNICKERS® Minis chopped
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 egg
- 1 stick butter melted
For the Filling:
- 1 pkg 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 box 16 oz powdered sugar
- 1 stick butter melted
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°
-
Lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish.
-
Combine cake mix, egg and butter until smooth.
-
Add in the apple and SNICKERS® pieces, mix until incorporated.
-
Press the cake mixture into the baking dish. This works best if you grease your hands and push it down.
-
Beat the cream cheese until it's mostly smooth.
-
Add in eggs and vanilla and mix well.
-
Slowly pour in the powdered sugar and mix until smooth.
-
Turn the speed to low (or 1 - 2) and add the melted butter in. Mix well.
-
Pour the mixture over top of the cake.
-
Bake 40 minutes.
-
Serve and ENJOY!
Not only is the SNICKERS® Apple Ooey-Gooey Cake delicious – but it’s also easy to make. That combination is the best kind! If you cut the cake while it’s warm, it’ll look like a dump cake. If you wait until it cools a bit, it’ll slice more like brownies.
{My kitchen has awful lighting, sorry for those three images above!}

Sounds like an interesting cake, if you like nuts in your food, which I don’t.
Sara Phillips says
I’m usually not a fan of nuts, but SNICKERS is my exception. Plus, these are diced so small you can’t really taste them.
Jeannette says
This looks amazing! I’m so not a nice person when I’m hungry and my family knows to feed me fast….hopefully they will do it with a cake like this soon!

I have been calling myself “hangry” since long before it became mainstream. I am a firm believer that kids for the most part only act out when they are either hungry or tired… and ummm… adults are the EXACT same way LOL I can eat my weight in Snickers. I am a sucker for the itty bitty ones in the theater. Popcorn and Snickers together… heaven.
Sara Phillips says
I agree! Wouldn’t it be fun to make SNICKERS popcorn?! Melt the candies over popcorn and enjoy … mmmm! I know what’s next!
Liz Mays says
My go-to for hunger is first a glass of water and then a handful of almonds. So we’re sorta on the same page because of the nuts. 🙂 Your cake looks fantastic~!
