**Full Disclosure: I received a Schoola.com gift card in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.
I want to tell you a secret … I didn’t buy my kids back to school clothes! You see, my boys’ drawers are overflowing with clothes. They didn’t need anything. Additionally, we live in South Texas and it doesn’t cool off until October (if we are lucky!) so James and Colin are able to wear their summer clothes until then.
With October only a few weeks away, I am ready to buy jeans and a few long sleeved shirts. But instead of shopping at a big box store, I am going to shop at Schoola.com. Schoola is an easy way to help your child’s school (or other schools) in need to raise money for programs, supplies or even equipment. They take donations in the form of clothes that kids have outgrown and sell them. A portion of each sale is given to school programs. When you are shopping, you’ll be able to see how much will be donated from each item and what school will get the funds from your purchase. It’s such a fun way to give back – even if it’s not to schools in your community.
About Schoola:
Dedicated to putting paintbrushes, books, baseballs and violins back into the hands of children, Stacey Boyd (parent, former teacher and school principal) launched Schoola in the 2012/2013 school year. A few innovative schools took the call to run a clothing drive during the last (and busiest) week of school. Parents sent in their gently used children’s clothing. The clothes were listed on the site at amazing prices. And schools received proceeds from every item sold—money that funds all those programs so critical to the success of our kids. A win for all.
Would you support schools by purchasing clothes through Schoola.com?
