Yesterday was the official start day for the #iHeartOmron challenge!! I have been wearing my Omron 323-U pedometer since Saturday and I just love watching the steps add up! I realized that I didn’t put the time in correctly which means my steps will be incorrect for 2 days, but my husband fixed it for me so I am all set now!
Today I will start the workout routine we were provided with. I will be working out 5 days a week (starting today) with the given routine. I am taking one of my “off” days to walk with a good friend – this is nothing new, we usually walk 2-3 days a week anyway. I am taking the other “off” day as a relaxation day. I am {good} nervous about it.
Here’s a message from Bob Greene:
I am ready to kick it into high gear and LOSE this weight – FOR GOOD!! I have prepped a week’s worth of salad (topped with grilled chicken) and fruit bowls. Water is my main hydration source, so my goal there is to push myself to do more. My daily goal is 10,000 steps – I am currently at half (or less) of that number. I am most scared about push-ups and planks as I am not very good at them. I am most excited about the bent-over dumbbell rows.
This week’s numbers (with the help of my husband):
- Application Weight (this was December, I believe) – 219
- Weight – 217.8
- Waist – 45.5
- Hips – 47
- Arms – 17 (L), 16 3/4 (R)
- Thighs – 26 3/4 (L), 28 (R)
- Bust – 48
Total weight loss (SO FAR): 1.2 lbs.
I can’t wait to see what next week’s numbers bring!
A friend and I are participating in {walking} the Graffiti Run in two weeks. This will be my second 5K and I am beyond thrilled!
What do you do to keep active?

I’m so excited for you because YOU are so excited! You’re clearly ready for the change and I wish you the BEST of luck!
Thanks so much, Liz!!
Go get ’em – what an exciting time for you!
Thank you, Sara! I am nervous and excited and ready to kick butt!!
You’re doing great! I need to get some fruit into this house and prep it for the week like that. I hate going for a snack and not knowing what to eat. How’d you treat your apples so that they don’t brown? Did you know that you can make sparkling water with a SodaStream and then dunk your apples in it. It’s supposed to help.
Thanks!! You can use lemon and/or lime juice. Roll the fruit in it and it should keep it from turning brown. (You can also use Sprite, but that has extra sugars.)
First and foremost congrats on being chosen as one of the moms-I am sure you are going to do graet things. I love all the containers for meal prep I do that a lot and I find it helps not only for getting out of the house in the am but keeping me on track
Thank you! I was nervous about wilty salad, but it seems ok today. I was told to put a paper towel over the salad before I cover it to keep it from wilting. I’ll try that if it starts to wilt.
I love the prep ahead meals idea! It is growing on me 🙂
All the best to you this week!
I am not a fan of freezer-prepped meals, but I thought I could handle this!
I love how organized you are! Good luck on your 5K too
Thank you!!
Congratulations on your weight loss so far! That is totally awesome! I love the pre-planning and prep for your week, totally awesome 🙂 I hope you have an awesome week!
Thank you!
good luck and lets rock the challenge
how fun! I need to stock my fridge full of vegies and fruits and prepare them for a week just like you. I belive in you and lets rock the challenge! Good Luck Sara!!
Thanks so much, Linda!! If I don’t prepare my fruits and veggies when I buy them, I don’t eat them. 😐
I stink at planks and push-ups but it gets a bit easier (though not much). I am working out by doing Zumba, treadmill, free weights and Wii games. Love how you prepared your foods!
I wish I had a treadmill (or ROOM for a treadmill). I am looking into gyms, but I haven’t found one I am willing to pay money for yet.
Great job on the loss and I love that you prepped your food! Great idea.
Thanks Kim! Seeing those other (LARGER) drop numbers make me a little self-conscious. The prepped food definitely helps me eat better.
Good luck, so proud of you!
