Colin turned 3 in November. We started putting a bug in his ear, so to speak, about potty training at about 6 months before his birthday. He was excited about peeing in the potty, and did REALLY well to start with. He wasn’t even scared (like James was) to poop in the potty. When he turned 3, he started telling me he “couldn’t” pee on the potty because the toilet “freak me out” … uh. It wasn’t worth the fight. So at his 3 year well-baby check up, the doctor told me to forget about it – no talk, no big boy undies, nothing – for about a month and try again in January.
Well, it’s January. We were at Walmart today, so I let Colin pick out (more) new undies and some treat candies (Mike & Ikes).
Tomorrow, January 4th, we dive in.
Do you think we can do it in about 30 days?! Any advice?

I wish you luck Sara!! My son is 2.5. He turns 3 in April. So far if he is naked he goes in the potty just fine. But put an undie on him and no matter how many times i ask him, he refuses to go in the potty. It is the weirdest thing. So naked he is……I hope the potty doesn’t freak him out anymore and you have a successful go of it!

Thanks Annie! Hopefully your little guy will keep progressing and you won’t have any set-backs! Tomorrow, we will set a timer and go potty every 30 minutes. We have a tinkle song. I have it recorded! I will post it soon!
