**Full Disclosure: My family and I were provided the opportunity to visit SeaWorld San Antonio at no cost to us. All opinions are my own.
Wild Days, the Taumata Racer and Pin Trading! What do these things have in common? They are all the fun, new activities at SeaWorld San Antonio this spring. And, can I tell you? I am most excited about Pin Trading at SeaWorld! It’s my favorite activity when we visit two other theme parks so being able to pin trade this close to home makes me quite giddy.
Pin Trading at SeaWorld –
Trading pins are now available at SeaWorld and they feature some of our favorite SeaWorld rides, animals, icons, etc. Pin Trading at SeaWorld is as simple as:
- Purchase pins, lanyards and/or a trading pin starter pack (which has one lanyard and two pins) in SeaWorld shops throughout the park.
- Find a SeaWorld Ambassador wearing a black pin trading lanyard.
- Look at their collection and select your favorite pin.
- Trade one of your pins for one of their pins.
You may trade up to 3 pins per SeaWorld Ambassador, per day. You may also trade with other pin-traders in the park.
TIP: If an ambassador is wearing a pin somewhere other than on their black lanyard, it’s not one they want to trade.
Taumata Racer –
Pronounced tow-ma-ta, the Taumata Racer is the newest ride in Aquatica will open on March 10, 2018! It’s a high-speed waterslide where riders zoom downhill head first on foam bodysurfing mats. It’s also a competitive ride with six side-by-side lanes. Taumata Racer launches riders in an entry tunnel that makes a swooping, 180-degree turn, then straightens out to make two additional descents over the 375-foot slide length and 55-foot drop in under 10 seconds.
Riders must be at least 42 inches tall.
Aquatica admission or annual pass required.
TIP: To beat your friends down the slide, try to get the orange slide!
Wild Days –
From March 3 – 18, free with SeaWorld admission, Wild Days is an action packed month of events, shows and thrills designed to keep the whole family coming back for more! Throughout the entire Wild Days event, you’ll find all sorts of fun along the Festival Pathway outside the Nautilus Amphitheater. Before the shows, meet some of the most popular animal ambassadors, see spectacular sidewalk chalk artists in action, pick up some fun facts at our education station, march to the beat of the pathway drummers, meet some favorite costumed characters and so much more.
Wild Days Schedule:
March 3 – 4: Jungle Jack Hanna
Jungle Jack Hanna is one of America’s favorite celebrity wildlife experts, and for years has been a regular guest star on late night television and popular morning talk shows. He’s also a favorite guest here at SeaWorld, and will be headlining this weekend’s Wild Days with his unique breed of humor in the company of a few of his favorite animal companions.
March 9 – 16: Flying High
These magnificent birds of prey joining us this weekend each found their way into the care of Last Chance Forever because they were orphaned, injured or sick and therefore unreleasable in the wild. Their dedicated volunteers and staff have some great tips on common sense conservation we can all take home, and have some pretty impressive animals from the avian kingdom here to help share their message.
March 17 – 18: SeaWorld Live
A fun-filled show that brings guests into the heart of some of the real-life animal rescue stories of SeaWorld Rescue and the SeaWorld and Busch Gardens® Conservation Fund. A celebrity wildlife expert hosts this kick-off weekend event, with interviews from several of our Animal Ambassadors and special appearances from a few special animal companions.
TIP: Arrive early for the shows as seating is on a first come, first serve basis.
Buy your SeaWorld Texas annual pass (which includes admission plus additional member benefits) and get ready to have fun with these new activities!

So much new excitement going on – we’ll have to make a trip this year! I love those pin packs with two identical ones – pin one, keep one! Brilliant, because I have a kiddo that gets attached to her pins!
Sara Phillips says
YES! I get attached to mine, too. The two pins per pack is a great idea!
