**Full Disclosure: I worked with IKEA Round Rock to host a workshop. I received a gift card and photo frames for my time. All opinions are my own.
I hosted a workshop at IKEA Round Rock in December. I was nervous for nothing because it was SO much fun!
Before the event, I was sent a 2-pack of IKEA picture frames to dress up. That was, after all, the craft for the workshop and examples would be necessary.
Picture Frame Crafts:
I had some extra ribbon around the house, so I cut 4 pieces and hot glued one piece on each side of the frame. It took three minutes (including warming the glue gun) to complete that picture frame!
The other frame was a little more complex. I wanted to use snowflake confetti, but I couldn’t find any so I used sequins & buttons. I used tweezers and hot glue to put each piece on. This frame probably took about 30 minutes.
Picture frame crafts can be made to fit your style & personality. You can use stickers, ribbon, confetti, buttons, soda tabs, glue, glue dots, hot glue … whatever you want! Each frame is custom to you!
They’d make great gifts for tween/teen girls to make for their friends, great for birthday party crafts, and so much more!
What would you use to make your picture frame crafts?

Those are both very pretty frames. This is a very great idea. My 9-year-old niece is very crafty and she’d love making her own frame to fit her bubbly personality.

Those are very, very cute! I seriously need to make some for my daughter’s room. Thanks for the idea!

REALLY cute! I never thought of using buttons – they sell those by the box even! Love it!

cute easy to do project, this’d be great for thrift store frames to spruce them up!

What a cute and simple craft. I wish I could have seen you do it at IKEA.

I have wanted to make a purple and gray frame for years with a cute bow for a wedding picture. Yeah I’m so not crafty. Yours came out wonderful!

I was watching some kids make their frames at the event – this kid (maybe 14) made THE CUTEST bow for her frame out of a piece of ribbon. She kind of folded it like an awareness ribbon and then pushed the center down. I bet you could do that with some hot glue, ribbon and paint!

Nice ideas Sara! I decorated some picture frames for my grand-daughter using duck (spellling?) tape. Now that the tape comes in all sorts of cool designs it was easy to find a design that matched her bedroom (we used purple zebra, lol). It was a fun project for us to do together. Next time I’ll fire up the hot glue gun and try your sequins & buttons idea. 🙂

I love that you used Duct tape! Washi tape (kind of the same but skinnier) would work well, too!

We’ve done this as a craft activity during brithday parties. The kids enjoy it and then we send them a pict of them at the party to put in it!
