I absolutely LOVE Black Friday and I have for at least 10 years. Thursday, we headed over to Mom & Dad’s house where Mom had already prepared most of the food. We planned out our attack: 1) Toys R Us (if it’s not too crazy), 2) Walmart, 3) Target, 4) Sears, 5) JC Penney, and the Radio Shack. We put little Avery flags on the pages in our ads so we knew what we were looking for.
That being said – for as prepared as we were – this year SUCKED.
1) Stores opened WAYYYY too early (I’d rather be at a store at 4am than 10pm) and there were WAYYYYY too many kids (and general non-Black Friday shoppers) out at 10 and 11 pm.
2) There was a HUGE gap of time (Target opened at 12 and Sears opened at 4.)
3) Walmart started to put out their “deals” at 3pm, so people (not me) were there and there was a huge check out line at 10pm. Also, they didn’t have a limit to the number of “deals” a person could have – so I saw one person with 20! food choppers in her cart.
4) NEITHER Target or Walmart wanted to price match some items because that store didn’t open until 4. (I guess this is partially my fault since I was thinking that they were still going to price match. I didn’t have a problem last year.)
Anyway – I guess I have learned, if stores open before 4am next year, I won’t be attending.
Needless to say, I didn’t spend much money (only $6 at Walmart).
I also LOVE Cyber Monday and plan on finding some great deals on Monday.
Do you shop on Black Friday?
Did you find any great deals this year? Where?
