School is almost done for the year (we have 8 days left) and I can’t wait! I have plenty of fun activities planned – art camp, park playdates, Sea World, time with Grandma, you name it! But I know that my boys will need some time apart and that’s where Microsoft comes in:
YouthSpark Summer Camps at Microsoft retail stores offer classes where technology meets creativity (for kids ages 8 – 13). Kids and parents can choose from five (5) different classes or register for all of them. (Note: parents must stay in the store during the camp.)
The best part? These are FREE summer camps!! It’s part of Microsoft’s YouthSpark commitment to provide 300 million youth around the world with better access to technology and educational opportunities in order to set them up for future success.
The camps include:
Digital Movie Madness: Go from script to screen – and all the movie-making steps in between.
Storyteller Studio: Write short stories, create games, and design slideshows and custom creations.
Digital Art Smarts: Inspire artistic vision and creation through graphic design and photography.
Game Masters: Mastermind a gaming world as the programmer, designer and producer.
Game App: Plan, Create, design and publish game apps like a pro.
I haven’t asked him what he’d like, but I think James would love the Digital Art Smarts, so I am for sure signing him up for that one. (Shoot, I’d like to take that class, too!)
Where to Register? Visit http://content.microsoftstore.com/store/summercamps to register for any of these classes while they’re still open at your local Microsoft retail store!
Do you think your kiddo(s) would love these camps? Which one(s) would they like best?!

My friend’s son did one or more of these camps last year and loved them. Gabe is actually old enough now, but there’s no time to schedule one of these as well.
Sara Phillips says
They have them all summer, if you can squeeze a week in there.

Oh now that is awesome. I wish Hunter was a smidge older so he could do it!

They have a Tech Tots (ages 2-5, I think) class, too!

Hunter is 6 lol. Though Landon is almost 4. Now I just need a microsoft store to be closer. The closest is an hour away.

I do wish they offered something for 6-7 year olds! (Or maybe they do and I don’t know about it.)
