My husband hunts with my dad every winter. The hubs has his own little trailer on the property and it has just enough room for himself and our two boys. They really enjoy the eight weeks of deer season. But when it’s over, from January to October, we store all the bedding (pillows, sheets and blankets) at our house so they can be cleaned after the season.
Usually my husband takes a large fitted sheet, wraps everything inside, folds it like a taco and puts it on top of his armoire. It’s ugly and nearly touches the ceiling. This year. we are going to use Ziploc® Space Bags® to make space for more.
I bought two boxes of Ziploc® Space Bags® from Lowe’s so we are ready for the end of deer season! All the bedding we store is still out at the lease, so I decided to practice with eight winter jackets from my house.
I folded the jackets and stuffed them in the Ziploc® Space Bag®.
I used the provided zipper to seal the bag, popped open the port and sucked all the air out of the Ziploc® Space Bag® with my vacuum cleaner.
Just a few minutes later, I had a bag that was significantly smaller*. It was also airtight, waterproof, reusable and (best of all, in my opinion) protects against bugs, odors and dirt!
I can’t wait to pack away my husband’s hunting bedding in just a few short weeks but more than that, I can’t wait to see how much less space that bedding takes up on his armoire! The more neatly items are folded and stacked in the bags, the better the compressed product will look.
Ziploc® has different Space Bags® so you can pick the right bags for the right occasions! Be careful not to overfill the bag (there is a line on the bag) as this may cause bag failure.
How do you make space for more?
