When I was a kid, I spent my summers eating as many ice cream floats as I was allowed to have! Now that I’m an adult, the thing I love most about summer are the cool sweet treats that I can enjoy when I feel like the heat is going to get the better of me. Even better is enjoying the refreshing beverage with family and friends! Everyone has different ideas as to what makes a good float though, so have selection of flavor combinations! For example, I like Fruity Floats more than I like Root Beer Floats.
When I was at Target, I picked up 6-pack mini cans of Sunkist® & A&W® and French Vanilla ice cream & Raspberry sherbet. I couldn’t wait to get home and share with my family the simple joys of an ice cream float!
How to Make Fruity Floats
It’s easy! Just swap out vanilla ice cream for sherbet and A&W® for Sunkist®.
Ingredients:
- Raspberry Sherbet
- Sunkist®
- Maraschino cherries, optional
Directions:
- Add 2 scoops of sherbet to a glass.
- Pour 1 mini can of Sunkist® over the sherbet.
- Top with a cherry, if so desired.
- Serve and enjoy!
I like fruity floats better because, to me, they taste like summer in a glass! I want my boys to enjoy floats the same way I did so we make them often! They prefer root beer floats so that’s what they get. Whatever float you decide to make, I’m sure it’ll be delicious!
Floats are great for keeping company happy and entertained because they are easy {and quick} to make. Now, go make some floats, relax and enjoy your summer with your family and friends!
What kind of ice cream floats will you make?!
Dr Pepper® Cherry with Vanilla ice cream, A&W® with Cookies and Cream ice cream or something else?!

My daughter gets to drink Sunkist because there’s no caffeine, and she LOVES root beer floats. I bet she would love an orange float!

Cookies and cream sounds awesome! Which soda do you use to make it?
