We are a big LEGO® family! My kids have wanted every set they have seen since they were about 4 years old. We attend the free mini build almost every month and the kids get LEGO® for nearly every holiday and birthday. Even my husband’s 86 year old grandpa builds and rebuilds his sets to keep his mind sharp. So when I found out the LEGO® Americana Roadshow was coming to San Antonio, I knew we couldn’t miss it!
The LEGO® Americana Roadshow is free and open to the public. It will be in San Antonio at North Star Mall from August 20 – September 5. There are 10 iconic structures spread across the mall but you’ll also see 6 bonus displays!
LEGO® Americana Roadshow Structures:

- Independence Hall
- The U.S. Supreme Court Building
- Lincoln Memorial
- Statue of Liberty
- Washington Monument
- The Liberty Bell
- Old North Church
- Jefferson Memorial
My suggestion is to start with the U.S. Capitol Building by Dillard’s and work your way through. This build is 26 feet x 13 feet and took 1700 hours to build. It can’t be missed! Make sure you enter the ‘guess how many’ contest at this model. Also, grab a map and answer the questions as you go. After the questions have been answered, turn it in at the LEGO® store for a prize. Save the LEGO® play area for the end of your trek around the mall and maybe grab some lunch at The Cheesecake Factory, Auntie Anne’s, Luciano’s or Chick-fil-A..
The LEGO® Americana Roadshow is absolutely fantastic! Every structure is so through and beautiful. The exhibit is meant to be interactive – take pictures and enjoy each piece from every angle!
Come back on August 27 or 28 for Make-and-Take weekend! There will be a limited number of mini monuments (The Liberty Bell) available from noon – 4 pm.
