**Full Disclosure: I test-drove the 2016 Kia Sorento for seven days for review purposes thanks to Drive Shop. No compensation was received. All opinions are my own.
I first drove the 2016 Kia Sorento at this year’s Texas Truck Rodeo. I immediately fell in love with it because it had great features, a smooth ride and not much road noise.
A few weeks after the Truck Rodeo, the 2016 Kia Sorento SXL 2.0T AWD came to visit my family for a week. I got to know the vehicle a little better and fell even more in love. Of course, there were a few things I decided I didn’t love (like a pretty major blind spot behind the A-frame on the driver’s side) but the good far out-weighed the bad.
Top 5 Features on the Kia Sorento:
- Birds-Eye View Camera – This is far and away my favorite feature on the Kia Sorento! It was so nice to see exactly where I was parking and where I was between the lines when reversing.
2. Sun Shades – I know this sounds silly but I think sun shades should be on every vehicle! Whether you are driving around the city or cross-country, your backseat passengers will be able to keep the sun out of their eyes.
3. Panoramic Sun Roof – As the driver, I couldn’t appreciate the panoramic sun roof as much as I would have liked but when I parked and sat in the back I was blown away! My kids begged to have this sun roof on an up-coming road trip!
4. Lock & Light on the Driver’s Door Handle – I like to lock my car and put my key in my purse before I get out of the vehicle. With newer cars, I just can’t do that. But the Kia Sorento allows me to put my key in my purse and then lock the car by pushing the black button on the handle! And, at night when you unlock the Sorento, a little light on the handle comes on.
5. Heated Steering Wheel – We don’t often need heated anything in South Texas. But the week I had the Kia Sorento, the heated steering wheel was a welcome feature! I was surprised by how quickly the steering wheel warmed up and how cozy it was against my hand. Simply pressing a button made it such an easy feature to use, too.
I loved so much about the Kia Sorento but these five features really blew me away!
