All over social media I’ve seen people asking, ‘What will your word of the year be?’ After much though, I’ve finally decided my word is going to be JOY!
The dictionary defines joy this way:
joy
/joi/
noun
1. a feeling of great pleasure and happiness.
While I mostly agree with that definition, I know we all have bad days. Being joyful doesn’t mean you feel happy all the time because that would be impossible. I am a naturally exuberant person and I enjoy letting my light shine but there are days I’d rather hide in my closet than be my typically bubbly self. I have to remember, though, that even when I have a bad day, no one can take away my joy.
I found a quote at RickWarren.org that I really loved!
Joy is the settled assurance that God is in control of all the details of my life, the quiet confidence that ultimately everything is going to be alright, and the determined choice to praise God in every situation.

I love the word Joy. Shows that even when you get slammed with something you don’t want to see or hear you still smile. You make the best of things. I know what you mean though, I use to be one of the most happiest of people and then life turned upside down. I’m happy again and that isn’t going to change. Keep yourself lifted and be happy. Happy 2016!

No, I have never had a “word of the year” but Joy is a word that makes one smile. I hope you have lots of joy this year.
