**Full Disclosure: I received a gift card in order to purchase the materials needed to create a summer project. No other compensation was received. All opinions are my own.
As much as I’d love to say I am a GOOD crafter, I cannot. I have these “brilliant” creative ideas, I attempt them, and they look like a 3 year old did it! So when I accepted Jo-Ann’s “Cape Discovery” summer crafting challenge, I was excited to see what the boys and I could create. I decided the boys would have fun creating the Lion Handprint Garden Stone. I thought they would really enjoy seeing the stone in our garden. (And, it didn’t hurt that the sample image had my name on it! 😉 )
A few days later, Colin and I headed to Jo-Ann’s to purchase the supplies we’d need. After looking at all the different Milestones™ Stepping Stone Kits, Colin decided we had to have the glow-in-the-dark kit. I figured we could still make a lion handprint garden stone with it, so that’s what we bought.
I was wrong. The octagonal shape of the kit I bought didn’t work for the lion. The kids’ hands barely fit after they put in the stones & stars. (James & Colin wanted it to look like the lion was out under the stars.) So we made it our own – by adding glitter and a smiley face! We really liked the way it came out – even if I lead a craft failure!
If you like our version (or the concept) of the Lion Handprint Garden Stone, feel free to re-pin it!!

Very cute. And I love yard art especially when the kids make it.

These are cute! My kids made stepping stones a few years ago and they are right out by our front door.

The only two craft stores in my town are JoAnns and Hobby Lobby. I love how JoAnns always has exactly what I need and it doesn’t take FOREVER to walk through.
Love the crafts you made! So cute 🙂

I love JoAnn’s but I drive over to the one on the other side of town because it’s bigger and has more fabric selections. (I like Hobby Lobby because it’s closer and has a bigger selection of baking stuff.)

It still turned out super cute! I tend to make up my own way of doing crafts rather than following the instructions to the letter. 🙂
