I am not a fan of forwarded emails – especially not when they tell me I’ll have bad luck for 7 years or something equally bizarre. I don’t, for one minute, believe I will have bad luck because I didn’t send that email to a certain number of people. My mother and mother-in-law are the worst offenders. They have gotten better, but I still get them. This morning, I woke up to an email from my mother-in-law:
Subject: Fw: Fwd: My Table …
Body:
My Table of 8
I am supposed to pick 8 women who have touched my life and who I think might participate. Please send this back to me. Remember to just read the quotation. That’s all you have to do. There is nothing attached. Just send this to 8 women you would like to sit at your table and let me know what happens on the 4th day. Sorry you have to forward the message, but I appreciate that you will. Please try not to break this. Thank you!!
Quote:
“Today may there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.”
Now, send this to 8 women or more within the next 5 minutes. And remember to send this back I count as 1. You’ll see why. My Table of 8.
Now, I usually don’t even READ these emails – I just hit delete and move on. But today, I read. I didn’t forward this email on, but I did post the quote as my facebook status this morning. I think it’s beautiful and it was just what I needed today. I hope you find it just as inspiring.

I can relate, I gently as possible let everyone on my email list know that I don’t want any fwd’s and that I don’t read them but if they want to send me anything personal directly from themselves that is wonderful, but no jokes, chain mail w/ luck/bad luck attached etc.
I do love inspirational quotes and mentally collect them, but if it came in an email I probably wouldnt have opened it to see it.
I do like the quote you shared . : )

hehe! I am nice the first time I ask them not to send forwards, after that I say “WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!” 😉

I usually delete mine too. I ask my friends not to send them to me but they still do.
