The thing I love most about giving is the feeling I get in return. I spend over 20 hours a week volunteering at my son’s school. I can’t tell you how exhausted I am by Friday but it’s worth it so students benefit and teachers can go home to their families at a decent hour. I do a lot for them but this week I gave a little extra when I dropped this Gum Bouquet by the front office.
I had most of my supplies on hand but I picked up Extra® Gum 35-stick packages in Extra® Gum Spearmint and Extra® Gum Polar Ice® at Target. I really did say 35-sticks per package! {And, you can save 10% on New Extra® 35-stick pack during February!} In under an hour, I had a beautiful gum bouquet to gift to the school staff.
I’m sure you want to know how, right?! I promise even the most unskilled crafter (like myself!) can make this bouquet!
How to Make a Gum Bouquet:
- Paint a terra cotta pot any color you’d like.
- Super glue a styrofoam ball to the top.
- Snip the flowers from fake stems, leaving about an inch and a half to stick in the ball.
- Unwrap the Extra® Gum 35-stick packages.
- Duct tape two lollipop sticks to the back of the packages.
- Stick the gum picks in the styrofoam ball first.
- Fill the rest of the ball with the flowers. (If the stem is flimsy, use a toothpick to poke the hole first.)
- Optional: Tie a bow around the pot.
- Gift the happy!
You should know that the gum bouquet is a little top-heavy because of the durable (and recycled!) packaging. Gluing the ball helps but make sure you space the Extra® Gum 35-stick packages evenly across the bouquet.

I don’t need a reward for volunteering all those hours but the smiles I get from teachers and students is the reason I keep going back!

This is super cute – and so quick to prepare! I might make one for the administrators at my son’s Kung Fu academy! Those ladies are always chewing gum and working hard! #Client
