**Full Disclosure: I was given the Hexbug Aquabot to facilitate my review. No other compensation was received. All opinions are my own.
I like to give my kids (or my husband) unique toys – the HEXBUG Aquabot fits that category.
Typically, the HEXBUG Aquabot would be a stocking stuffer, but I knew I wanted to play with it and I couldn’t wait for Christmas to do so! I teased my kids with a ‘can you guess what I have’ game – they got the color, but couldn’t guess what it was, so I pulled it out and we opened it up. They immediately started to argue over who would get to put the shark in the water first. Because they argued over it, my husband got the first turn.
Putting the batteries in was quick & easy. Then we filled a bowl with water and my husband dropped the shark in. The shark started off in the middle and then made its way to the edges. He banged all the way around the edge and didn’t go back to the center (unless we moved him). I’d like to add the shark to our fish take, but I think the banging would stress our real fish out.
We’ve had the aquabot open for about 2 weeks and my kids have played with him almost every day! Additionally, Colin has started to claim the aquabot has his own and uses it every time he takes a bath. I’d call that a successful toy!
The robotic fish that really swims! Water brings it to life!
HEXBUG Aquabot provides kids with the fun experience of having a pet fish, without all the messy clean-up.
HEXBUG Aquabot is available in two styles, the Shark and the Clownfish, and ten translucent colors.
