My kids go to an awesome school full of amazing teachers and staff. Colin has the same kindergarten teacher James had and we absolutely adore her, but like most educators she tends to give extra (so much extra) and often doesn’t get the recognition she deserves. Isn’t that the case with most teachers, firefighters, policeman and the like? Doing something simple to show our appreciate can be incredibly easy. And usually the reward is an immense feeling of fulfillment. I don’t know about you, but I like the feeling that comes with doing nice things for others.
I needed to pick up a few things at Walmart so adding Extra gum, ribbon and tape to my list was simple enough. (I already had the paper, ink and scissors I needed to make this little token of appreciation a reality.)
This little gift wouldn’t be complete without a tag, so I created a Thank You Tag Printable. (Feel free to print the tag. There are 8 on the page.)
While the tags were printing out, I unwrapped the three-packs of gum. Then I cut out the tags and wrapped a length of ribbon around a single package and curled the ends. I taped the ‘Thank You’ tags on the backside of the gum so that the Extra label could still be seen. These little gifts didn’t cost much more than $1.50 each.
After I had all the Extra gum wrapped and ready to distribute, I put them in a bag and took them to the school. I started with nine little gifts and handed them all out. Every teacher and staff member was very appreciative of the little pick-me-up.
How would you give Extra?

I agree that teachers do a lot more than they are appreciated for. This is little reminder of how special they are!

Gum makes a perfect stocking stuffer for teens and also for hubby! It’s nice to have an extra pack of gum in the car, in my desk at work and at home. Great gift idea for teens to give to their friends also!

Gum is an awesome gift especially for people who drive a lot and want it at their fingertips. And the way you dressed it up is a great gift with even better presentation. Extra is great too because it doesn’t turn into rubber like so many other types of gum.
